Five Bible Verses on Evangelism
Dear Friends and Members of IBC,
As a conclusion to our short mini-series on evangelism and conversion, in this week’s ‘Word for the Week’, I would simply like to present some Bible verses that exhort us to share our faith. I encourage you to take a few minutes just to meditate on these verses, maybe choosing one of them to memorise for this week. Let’s chew on them, considering how we can apply them to our lives.
“How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: 'How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!'” (Romans 10:14-15)
“Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,” (1 Peter 3:15)
“So do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord or of me his prisoner. Rather, join with me in suffering for the gospel, by the power of God.” (2 Timothy 1:8)
“We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. (2 Corinthians 5:20)
“Then Jesus came to them and said, 'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.'” (Matthew 28:18-20)
In our Sunday service on 23rd June, a guest preacher will be sharing the gospel message with us, so this may be an opportunity to invite some of our spiritually-seeking friends to church for the first time.
God bless you
James
